This was exactly what we had in mind when planning a cozy trip to Julian for our 5 year wedding anniversary! It’s tucked away from neighbors enough so it’s quiet and surrounded by nature, but not so much that it was hard to find when we arrived after dark. It was very easy to get in and we appreciated that the coded entry made our arrival simple (without the hassle of arranging to meet up). Not having to be there at a specific time was especially helpful since we have a 8 month old baby and our schedule frequently has to change on the fly. Everything in the cabin was easy to find and use, especially in the kitchen. We cooked a couple meals in and it was nice to have good quality cookware and all the kitchen essentials. All around the house were blankets and comforters that made it easy to stay cozy and enjoy the fall weather. When it got chillier at night, the heater worked well and quickly. One thing we did not realize when booking is that there are no doors to the bedrooms. We figured out some workarounds to keep the noise down for our baby’s early bedtime, but it’s just something to keep in mind if you book the location. My favorite part of the cabin was the large bathroom and tub. There’s everything to take a spa-like break, including candles and bubble bath. Great for taking a soak after a day of hiking the nearby trails. The location was also fantastic – very short drive to the main drag and the antique shops further out. It was an ideal home base for us, especially since we had to come back for naps and to feed the baby. We would definitely recommend John’s cabin for your next Julian trip!
